Happiness is Contagious!

There are Sprinkles cupcakes (my favorites in Dallas, with the Cupcakery coming in second) at RD2 today for Candice’s birthday:

I read this article (link via @guykawasaki) on a study confirming that what my mother has always told me is true: happiness is contagious.

We all know that joy is a very potent emotion, and the study confirms that it is effective even to the third degree. This means that the happiness of your friend’s friend’s friends can make you happier in return.

Proximity heightens the effect (seeing someone who is happy in person has more influence than your happy facebook friends), so keeping the people you work with happy (with cupcakes, etc.) has a direct effect on you. RD2ers… I think this is prime justification for more baked goods!
