Tweetbot: App of the Week

Mar 23 2012
Tweetbot for iPad

One of the key rented properties for any social media strategy is Twitter. A thing I find really neat about Twitter, some may disagree, is that each post is limited to 140 characters. No more, less is acceptable. One might assume that there wouldn’t be too much effort devoted to the interface from which we tweet, seeing as there’s only at most 140 characters going out. It’s an interesting thing though…There is so much focus placed on the way we interact with the service that it seems the applications and their interfaces are equally as important as Twitter itself when the experience is viewed as a whole. It can make it or break it. Tweetbot does the former, in spades.

When it comes to Twitter apps for iOS, there are many...

Rishi Dave On RD2

Oct 18 2011

It’s humbling to work with smart people like Rishi Dave. He’s seriously one of the smartest people I know. Rishi is a hard driver and a tremendous partner of RD2. He’s been our counterpart on many successful Dell initiatives. Rishi is the Executive Director of Online Marketing at Dell. He’s has degrees in Chemical Engineering and Economics with Honors at Stanford University. Rishi also holds an MBA in Marketing from Wharton School. Sheesh!!

Just last week I had the chance to catch a few seconds of Rishi on camera to get his feedback on working with RD2 during the Dell World Conference in Austin, Texas.

Rishi also is an avid runner and cyclist...

Happy 5th Birthday to Nuts About Southwest!

Apr 21 2011

Crikey!! We’re not going to let the day lapse without a shout out to the team over at Southwest Airlines for the five year anniversary of Nuts About Southwest! I deserve a trip to the RD2 woodshed for my serious lapse in blogging lately. But today is special...

Blogworld 2010 With Southwest Airlines

Oct 21 2010

This past week and weekend we were able to fly to Las Vegas to participate in Blogworld. Southwest Airlines had a booth and we worked the booth with them for a couple of days. Overall this was a great event. We had the opportunity to spend some quality time with not only the BlogSouthwest team but some other really cool vendors at the show. During the show, Brian Lusk (aka ) interviewed me. The interview was fun for me as it seems that Brian and I had some good chemistry. We’ve been through a lot together...

Launch: Information Technology Executive – Android Application

Oct 4 2010

Yes, it’s a very “Touchy Subject.” You simply need to try the new Dell Streak. Personally, I really love the form factor. When browsing the web or email on this device it feels similar to a Sony PSP to me. It’s very comfortable, natural, and easy, whether one handed or two. At five inches on the screen, this is a different form factor. It’s very realistic to carry around day to day. It fits in your pocket and is so much better for reading than a standard smart phone.

The Dell Streak is an Android based tablet with a lot of power. Dell contacted us about creating an Android application for this new device that was to be provided at the EMEA CIO PAC Conference in Berlin...

35,000 Employees LUV’ing Drupal

Aug 4 2010

Very recently we helped re-launch SWALife, the Corporate Intranet for the Employees of Southwest Airlines. This is exciting for 35,000 reasons – which is roughly the number of Employees who have access to the new and improved Southwest SWALife! Working with Southwest Airlines as we have, they are an extended family. This is a company who carries a passion for its Employees like very few companies do. There are so many vital roles at Southwest Airlines and it was a massive and uplifting opportunity to think through each of the various roles as they would interact with this new Intranet...

Flipboard and I’m Just Not That Interesting

Jul 28 2010

Every time I hit the enter key when submitting a tweet, a blog post, a Gowalla update, or a facebook post, I’m taking into consideration the fact that what I’m about to publish is exactly what someone is looking for. It’s something that is going to do the world some good. To feed someone who is hungry. To help a colleague solve a problem. To give an important tip to a client.

Scratch that. I’m lying. Or I’m just absolutely kidding myself. In fact, if I had a nickel for every time I communicated the need for content awesomeness to a client, or someone communicated that to me, I’d be a rich man...
