For the last couple of weeks I had to step away from the computrainer. In theory it sounds like a really great method for training, and it is… but I had to get a few good rides under my belt on a real road. Two weeks had gone by without a single ride that felt like I was getting anywhere. Then, last weekend, I had the ride that set it up for me. Sunday of last week was my second ride in a row. 2.5 hours with Larry in a strong wind. A short version of the east loop The day before, I felt completely trashed and my legs were useless to me during the ride. But, the muscle memory finally kicked in on Sunday and I was feeling the remnants of how I should have been feeling all along. Granted, I am still very slow compared to where I was, but the mojo is back.
Tomorrow, I ride again after a week off. Busy at work with our 2006 kickoff at Rough Creek Lodge (launched this week!). Followed by another great win for RD2, soon to be announced. I plan to celebrate this weekend on my bike.
